Filtering Your Data for Precise Analysis

Master data analysis in Cifra. Learn to use date filters, dimensions, and comparisons to get detailed reports and make strategic decisions.

Updated this week

The true power of Cifra's Reports section lies in its ability to filter and segment your data. With filters, you can analyze information in a specific way, gaining a deeper understanding of your business performance.

1. Using Date Filters

The date filter is your main tool for analyzing performance over specific periods.

  • Predefined Periods: At the top of your report, you'll see a date filter. Click it to open a list of common options like Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, or even Year to date.

  • Custom Dates: If you need a specific time range, you can select a start and end date using the calendar. Just choose the start and end dates and click "Apply" to update the report.

2. Using Dimensions

Dimensions allow you to group your data to see its performance over time or by category.

  • Accessing Dimensions: At the top of your report, or in the right-hand side panel, you'll find the "Dimension: Day" option (or the dimension that's selected by default).

  • Choosing a Dimension: Clicking on it opens a list of options like Day, Week, Month, or Year. When you select one, the report will reorganize to show your metrics' performance for the time period you chose. This is perfect for identifying long-term trends.

3. Using the Comparison Option

To understand if your business is improving, the comparison option is essential.

  • Activating Comparison: At the top, next to the date filter, you'll see an option called "No comparison". Click on it.

  • Selecting Your Comparison: Choose "Compare to past" to see how your current period's performance compares to the previous period. This gives you instant context for your growth or decline.

4. Filtering Customer Data and More

In addition to time options, you can apply advanced filters to segment information.

  • Additional Filters: In the "Filters" section of the side panel, you can add filters based on your customers' information (like First name or Email) to analyze the behavior of specific segments.

With the smart use of these filters, you can move from a superficial analysis to a deep understanding of what is truly driving (or holding back) your business growth.
